Jag minns de första rapporterna om att ett fåtal av de som hade drabbats av Covid-19 hade förlorat förmågan att känna lukter. Det var närmast anekdotiska uppgifter och det dröjde ett tag innan forskarna insåg att symtomet var vanligt bland de Coronasjuka.
Men nu handlar det om hörselskador, som tinnitus och förlust av hörseln. Forskare har noterat ett ett ökande antal fall sedan pandemin startade.

”We need more research to look into the different mechanics, but the possible reason could be the virus itself impacting the ear and causing ear damage that can result in tinnitus and hearing loss.
“Another possible theory is that the medication received in hospital while having Covid could have damaged the inner ear.”
